We are currently hiring a Sales Specialist in Montreal and Vancouver to support and accelerate our client’s growth in the dairy and plant-based products industry. This is a full-time position, and we are looking to have the right candidate start as soon as possible.

Reporting into the National Client Manager, Sales & Merchandising, the Sales Specialist will be responsible for an assigned territory and the achievement of client’s objectives as it relates to sales targets, account penetration and compliance.

KEY ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Optimize the go-to market distribution and generate additional points-of-contact in the foodservice sub-channel.
  • Ensure sales growth for client’s products in the territory according to the objectives and targets determined (new distribution).
  • Follow the overall implementation plans developed by the National Client Manager, Sales & Merchandising and/or Business Development Managers.
  • Ensure field visits are focusing on the monthly priority sub-channels as well as ordering, merchandising, data collection, etc. when needed.
    • Analyze the need of each customer to optimize their sales based on clearly defined objectives (i.e. Must Stock Listings and innovations).
    • Identify sales opportunities on the assigned market unit and establish action plans to secure them.
    • Complete audits, review and compare shelf facings, competitive actions and product offerings on a regular basis.
    • Oversee the follow-up and proper operation of any marketing activities.
    • Ensure execution of display/promo activities.
  • Support Business Development Managers in managing distributor relationships, prepare and present quarterly reviews, increase account penetration within regional accounts and place customer orders.
    • Work in partnership with distributor sales reps in order to secure listings and attain all assigned objectives
  • Ensure representation at various tradeshows (may include evening and weekend work)
  • Be adaptable to the changing and evolving reality of the impulse channel opportunities
  • Provide appropriate reporting using the reporting tool app
    • Analyze data and propose initiatives and action plans to maximize the development of the assigned territory.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledgeable of the impulse channel, retail / foodservice industry
  • Bachelor’s degree an asset
  • 1-3 years of sales experience or in a similar role
  • Unlimited access to a vehicle with a valid driver’s license
  • Comfortable with MS Office, emails and online reporting tools
