Set Designer

We seek a highly creative and skilled Set Designer for Immersive Experiences to join our team. As a Set Designer, you will design and create immersive environments, sets, and installations that transport audiences into captivating worlds. Your innovative designs will be at the heart of our immersive experiences, ensuring that every detail contributes to a seamless and captivating journey.

Key Responsibilities:

Conceptualization and Design:

• Collaborate with the creative team to conceptualize and design immersive environments that align with the project’s objectives and vision.
• Develop sketches, mood boards, and 3D renderings to communicate design ideas effectively

Set and Environment Creation:

• Oversee the construction and assembly of sets and environments, including selecting materials, fabrics, and props.
• Ensure that all set elements, including lighting, sound, and special effects, work harmoniously to create a captivating experience.

Budget Management:

• Create and manage budgets for set design projects, ensuring that they stay within the allocated budget constraints.

Technical Proficiency:

• Stay updated on the latest technological advancements and tools in set design and immersive experiences.
• Utilize software and technology for design, including CAD software, 3D modelling, and relevant design tools.

Collaboration:

• Collaborate with artists, creative directors, architects, and other team members to bring the immersive experiences to life.
• Work closely with builders, carpenters, and artisans to ensure the successful execution of your designs.

Adaptation and Problem Solving:

• Be adaptable and resourceful in solving design and construction challenges that may arise during the project.
• Ensure that designs meet safety regulations and guidelines.

Quality Control:

• Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality and durability of set pieces and props.
• Make necessary adjustments or repairs as required.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Set Design, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in set design, preferably in the immersive experiences or entertainment industry.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modelling tools.
• Strong knowledge of materials, construction methods, and fabrication techniques.
• Excellent creative and artistic skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work within deadlines and under pressure.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and standards in set design.
• Bilingual French/English
